Hello my name is Hannah, I’m a british artist, designer, dressmaker, patternmaker and the mother of two small children, living in north Italy.
tacit came into being after my second child was born, knowing that I wanted to be available to my children whilst nurturing my creativity, I gave up my job as a sewing teacher in Milan and set to with the aim of clothing me and my children in ethical beautiful clothes, and gradually making those clothes available to a wider audience.

Every garment that you see here has been made from start to finish by me, from the original design to drafting the pattern, choosing and cutting the fabric and finally sewing. It's a lengthy process but one that gives me deep satisfaction.
The function of the website is to provide a gallery of images of all the tacit garments and creations that you can peruse at your leisure. There are no prices on the website because it is not a shop (despite the misleading name, but that is another story).
